My first DEWA concert in Jakarta's Hard Rock Cafe for Valentine's Day 2002; I have been a fan for years so needless to say I was ecstatic to see them play live

#12. Roedi, makasih. Foto "Social Sundanese dance" itu sebetulnya "tari Jaipongan", tapi aku belom sempat ganti judul fotonya. Wah ibu Roedi dari Jawa Barat ya. The sisingaan dance itu benar2 keren, energetic sekali!

#10. YW, Jida, Jurjen, thanks for the compliments.

Dusyum, this Indonesian cultural show was held at UKM on the 8th and UTM on the 9th, so I'm afraid you missed the opportunity to go see it. Perhaps next year ya.

#8. Hey Fairy, you 're using the creative juice very well. A succesful capturing of the ambiance as far as I can see.

#7. Fairy, thanks for inviting me. I had a lovely time, getting cultured up and all.
Where are the rest of the pictures? I think you're getting a hang of that camera now...everything you took looks great!

To all Indonesians.... Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan!

#6. Nice photos

#5. ADHE: Iya tari Saman itu keren banget, the girls at one point were slapping and beating their chests so hard it was almost ape-like hehe. Tapi cool abiz memang.

Bu SYLVIE: Masih belajar neh kameranya, gotta practice more! Photo2 ini mah sederhana sekali compared to what some of my friends with the same camera can produce. Thanks buat dukungannya. And oh I bet Cemara looked cute dancing! Ga ada photo2nya bu?

AJ: Thanks for the tip on the jaipongan dance, I'm pretty sure that's what it was, but just to play safe I followed the description given in program booklet. And yes I wrote very little this time and let my photos do all the talking.

TANTE S: The night was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed myself. A change from watching Indonesian bands and pop singers.

#4. Nice pics, Fairy Hmmm....have I seen any of those dances? Most probably yes, just that I didn't know (more like, can't remember) their names

#3. I think what you mean by sundanese social dance is Jaipongan, it's a quite sexy dance actually. And what's funny is in the middle of malam kesenian Sunda there's a Tari Saman ini dia arti harfiah dari Bhinneka Tunggal Ika hehehe...as always, it was an interesting coverage, though you wrote very little this time

#2. Fai,
Two Thumbs up for all the photos !
Bagus banget, gila!
Warna-warnanya so .... pokoknya keren abis deh. Mmmh, berapa lama belajar manual camera barunya, Girl

Cemara used to be one of them when we were still in Yangon, setiap ada pentas kesenian dari Embassy Indonesia, she used to take part in their ensemble music group.

My warmest regards to Jida ya

#1. The most spectacular dance is the Saman dance from Atjeh. It made me shivers! Jarang2 dance daerah yang cepat...
